Producer’s Note #12

Here and There Updates!

1. Jade Plummer – Jayden Plummer was the lead teller for the Youthful Voices Concert at the Florida Storytelling Association’s 33rd Annual Festival. Along with the other scholarship-winners, Jade thrilled the listeners with her tale “Terror in the Trough”. Moments like this come into our lives with work, and Jade did the work. She paid the price by writing and editing and telling and practicing. We are so proud of her. Congratulations, Jade Plummer. Previous Madison County winners of the Virginia Rivers Youth Scholarship have been Abby Ratliff and Liberty Blair. Madison County is proud of all three of you and of all the many students who wrote stories and continue to work hard in all they do.

2. High Schools – We now have two high schools on board for the storytelling opportunity that takes place each year at our Tellabration!TM. James Madison Preparatory High School and Madison Public High School. The number of schools joining us in the world of storytelling means that we will now be scheduling more story concerts throughout the day at our big event on O’Toole’s Farm. Stay tuned for more details! Until then, welcome aboard, high schoolers!

3. We have lined up some more local tellers for our big event in November – all of whom, you will be happy to hear them tell you a story.

4. If you didn’t see the Home Page of the website, go read the article about our storytelling workshops led by Pat Nease. She also visited some schools and told them stories. It was a great week for stories here in Madison County. For more information on Pat, see

5. We have been passing out “Save the Date” cards to all we meet, and we have been running ads in various magazines and event brochures to let folks outside our area know about our 4th Annual Tellabration!TM. Have you saved the date on your calendar, too?
